This small state park features two short hiking trails, great fishing, and a few historic landmarks.  Although there is a swimming area designated, this is not the park for you if you want to stake out a spot on the sand.  Although bikes are allowed, I don’t really see much opportunity for off road biking as the trails are short and/grown in.

The stone work from the foundations, the Silas Towne monument and Casey’s Cottage are the main draw.  A great place to picnic, fish or view the Lake Ontario sunset.  Mexico Point Boat Launch is right next door and a great place to launch your boat.

08/30/2009 – (AdvGirl & Chinook) Mother nature was not very cooperative with us on this visit.  Although we’ve been to this park before and it is the host to several family reunions.  We did only the loop trail on this visit.  You can read CNYHiking.com‘s review for additional information and pictures on the nature trail.  The park is very dog friendly and offers a small “Dog Beach”.  Watch for the snakes among the rocks.
