01-07-2012 (Diane, Steven) – This relatively new trail is part of the Central New York Land Trust.  We parked at Cummings Park, which is right next to the trail, although there is an alternate entrance indicated by the coordinates above.  For the most part, this is an easy trail with sections of boards to assist in some of the wet areas.  Our visit had just a little ice on the ground which made the boards pretty slick.  To avoid the sharp incline, stay to the left at the trail intersections marked above.  The trail map also includes an elevation profile.

01-02-2012 (Advgirl, Steven) – On this outing, we started in the upper parking lot.  From the parking lot we took the Arboretum trail to the Valley trail.  Valley to the Boundary trail.  We took the short extension along the Boundary trail to Phillips Pond and traced back to Boundary.  We continued to follow Boundary until the Forest and Field trail (south) which cut back into the Boundary trail near the beaver pond.  From there we continued to east portion of the Valley trail and back to the parking lot.  I suggest using caution on the Valley trail in wet weather as the mud can be very slick, even with hiking boots.
